Jon Paul Robbins attended, and graduated from, the State University of New York at Binghamton. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree, with cum laude honors, in 1970. After he got his BA at SUNY – Binghamton, he pursued his Juris Doctorate at Cornell University. He graduates, with honors, from Cornell University in 1973.

While enrolled at Cornell University, Jon Paul Robbins was a member of the Board of Editors for the Cornell Law Review. This is a scholarly journal based on campus that centers on legal issues. The Order of the Coif, a national honor society for law students and alumni, has a chapter on Cornell University’s campus which Jon Paul Robbins was a member of.

Jon Paul Robbins joined Seward & Kissel, which is a law firm based in Manhattan, and became a litigator for that firm. He continued in that role until 1979 when he left to found another firm, Nitkin Alkalay Handler & Robbins. This firm would merge with McLaughlin & Stern LLP in 1992. This is where Jon Paul Robbins is now a partner. He is a civil litigator at the New York City-based firm and works in a number of fields, including lender liability, anti-trust, insurance defense, employment discrimination, trusts and estates, sports and entertainment, the arts, real estate, and business dissolution.
